Strap Hinge Black with Large Bend 85 cm - Rustic Tip
This black strap hinge with large bend and rustic point is 85 cm long and made of strong black powder-coated steel. The black coating makes the hinges look beautiful. The rustic point provides a rural look. With this strap hinge with large bend you can easily install fence doors or gate fences. The large bend makes it possible to mount the hinge hooks on the back of the post. The large bend of this rod ensures that your door falls 4cm inward.
The black hinges with a 85 cm large bend have 5 mounting holes. The holes have a diameter of 8mm. This makes our M8 zinc plated carriage bolts suitable for attaching the Wovar strap hinges. You determine the length of the carriage bolts on the basis of the door thickness. These hinges have an eye of 16 mm. Therefore, mount these hinges with large bend in combination with our black sheet thumb 16 mm.
Note: for hinges with a 16 mm eye, use M8 bolts and not M6!
How do I attach hinges with a large bend to my door?
You can mount the black strap hinges with large bend from Wovar with our black carriage bolts. Our black carriage bolts M8 x 60 mm are most commonly used for this. Mount the hinges on the same side as the door hinging direction. Will the door open to the outside? Mount the hinges on the outside of the door. If the door opens inwards, mount the handles on the inside of the door.
Place the strap hinge in the correct place on the door and mark the screw holes with a pencil. Are you using carriage bolts? Then it is necessary to pre-drill with our 9mm thick hardwood drill. After drilling, slide the carriage bolts through the hole. The nut of the carriage bolts is on the same side as the hinges. This means that the semicircular head is on the opposite side. By tapping the semicircular head of the carriage bolts with a rubber hammer, the square part under the semicircular head is clamped into the wood. This prevents the carriage bolt from turning when tightening the nut.
Each stall has 1 square mounting hole. At the square hole, place the black carriage bolt with semicircular head on the same side as the rod. So that the square part under the semicircular head of the carriage bolt fits exactly into the square hole of the strap hinge. This ensures a solid connection of the hinges.
How many hingess do I need for my garden door?
For doors or gates in your garden that are lower than 120 cm, Wovar recommends using 2 hinges with hinge hooks. For higher doors it is recommended to use 3 hinges. By using 3 hinges, you greatly reduce the chance that your garden door may large bend.
