Shade Sails Water Permeable

Looking for a water permeable shade sail? The standard HDPE breathable shade sails from Wovar offer excellent protection against the sun and provide a wonderful place in the shade in no time. Our standard shade sails have the advantage that they are water and air permeable. As a result, heat does not get trapped under the shade sail. Unlike waterproof shade sails, they do not have to be placed with an oblique angle.

Wovar's standard shade sails are made of high density polyethylene, also known as HDPE. The water permeable shade sails are UV-inhibiting and protect against 90-95% of all sun rays. The material is very strong and hardly absorbs water. This ensures that the shade sail remains free of rot and mould.

Do you need a different kind of shade sail? View our full range of shade sails. Here you will find harmonica shades, waterproof shade sails, and triangular shade sails, among others.

Wovar's water-permeable shade sails consist of high-quality HDPE of 320 grams/m2. This material, high density polyethylene, consists of knotted fabric which is water permeable. The shade sails also contain special UV inhibitors, which offer resistance to approximately 90-95% of all sun rays. The material is very strong and hardly absorbs water. This ensures that the sail almost always remains free of rot and mould.

HDPE breathable shade sails

A major advantage of these water-permeable HDPE sun screens is that they also allow air to pass through. Because of this property, the heat, which forms under the shade, will not linger. This ensures that the HDPE fabrics are also very suitable for use in windy places, such as on the coast or on a roof terrace. The air can pass through the shade sail, making it less likely to be caught by the wind.

We list the advantages of an HDPE fabric for you:

  • The fabric filters up to 95% of harmful UV radiation;
  • The fabric is mould resistant;
  • The fabric is dirt-resistant;
  • The fabric is easy to clean.

Despite the fact that the HDPE shade allows water and air to pass through, it offers complete shade.

Cleaning the shade sail

The HDPE shade sails are naturally mould-resistant and dirt-resistant. However, it is possible that a stain ends up on your shade sail. Birds or insects can cause such spots. It is best to remove this stain using a brush and some water. Soap and hard scrubbing movements are not necessary, we don't recommend them.

Patio shade

A shade sail is often used to provide shade on a patio, but can also be used in other places in the garden. For example, you can shield your flowerbed, pond, or swimming pool from the scorching sun. Shade sails can also be used very well outside the garden. Think of children's playgrounds or animal shelters. Let your children play safely outside in the shade and provide your (pet) animals with a sheltered place on hot days.
