Looking for rotatable slats for your garden? With this Flex Fence stainless steel rotating blades of 95 cm high you can easily make an adjustable fence or an adjustable roof. You decide how the shelves can stand in the rails, because the shelves can easily be turned after installation. The set consists of two rails, each 95 cm long. The rails are made of stainless steel, so they do not rust.

Installing short rotating slats Flex Fence

This set comes with free screws to fasten the rails to a wooden support. The rails are suitable for mounting a total of 8 shelves. You will need separate screws to attach the shelves to the stainless steel rails, which you can easily order. The mounting flaps each have two mounting holes, for this we recommend using galvanised screws 3.0 x 16 mm. Do you place these in hardwood? Then pre-drill with a 2mm hardwood drill.

Which planks to use for rotating slats?

Suitable planks for mounting onto these Flex Fence short rotatable slats are planks with a maximum length of 1.80 meters. Up to this length, the best rotatability of the planks can be guaranteed. Good types are, for example, impregnated pine fence boards or smooth planed hardwood fence boards. The perfect shelf for the rotating slats is 1.6 to 1.8 cm thick and 14.5 cm wide. We do not recommend mounting the planks too tightly against the rails, as wood needs room to work. Therefore, make sure there is sufficient space between them. Pay attention! Due to the acids that are in many types of wood, the rails can show light flash rust. This can always be removed by wiping along the rails with a cloth. This applies to a slightly greater extent for the coastal provinces and other salty environments, but even then you can easily wipe it away. We test the flex fence version, including in a salt spray test. This has no further influence on the construction strength.

Shorten or extend Flex Fence

Wovar's rotatable slats are easy to extend and shorten. You can extend the slats by placing 2 pieces on top of each other. Or opt for our 165 cm long version. If this is too long, you can simply shorten them to the desired length using a hacksaw. With this you can easily make your own garden shutters.

Good to know: The Flex Fence can be a bit loose on arrival, making it look like they are limp. You can solve this by tightening the lock nut in the U-profile of the slats. This way you determine how heavy the slats open and close. The tighter you tighten them, the tighter the carriers are. You can easily do this with a water pump pliers. Please note: do this before mounting the slats, because you can no longer access them afterwards.
