To pre-drill the holes, use a 6 x 230 mm auger drill. Drill the mounting holes about 10 cm from the longest side of the angled brace.

Finishing tip: Opt for a countersunk finish by pre-drilling a 10mm deep hole. You do this with a 24 mm spade drill. This way you can neatly hide the construction lag screws.
