This is to prevent tarnishing and to remove hand and fingerprints. You only need a soft wash cloth to clean the handle. Never use scouring powder or a scouring pad on the handle. This could damage the rust-resistant layer of the handle, which makes your stainless steel door handle susceptible to corrosion.

Simply wet the soft wash cloth in soapy water and wipe off the smudges caused by touching the handle. Every time someone touches the handle, a bit of grease from their skin remains on the door handle, causing stains. Fortunately, these stains are easy to remove.
