The pegs of this edging are 8 cm long, allowing the edging to stick out 16 cm above the ground. The effective length of the edging is 100 cm, and the click system used to attach the edges to each other is approximately 6 cm.

Speed up the rusting process of corten steel

At Wovar, we also offer a rust accelerator. This allows your corten steel to rust within a day, as the garden edgings are not yet rusted upon delivery. The rust accelerator, also known as a rust activator, can be found on this page under 'related products'. With a 0.25L bottle, you can rust up to an average of 27 of these garden edgings on both sides! Apply the rust accelerator using a sponge and your garden edgings will be fully rusted within an average of 10 hours! Without a rust accelerator, this process will take a few weeks to months (depending on weather conditions) until your garden edging is rusted.

An alternative to our rust accelerator is degreasing the corten steel beforehand with a suitable cleaning agent. Next, a salt solution can be applied, consisting of three large tablespoons of salt dissolved in 10 liters of warm water. Apply the salt solution generously using a plant spray bottle or watering can. Keep in mind that this method generally works slower than using our specially developed rust accelerator.

How do I install corten steel edging?

Thanks to the convenient click system, it is very easy to connect the edging pieces. This edging is highly flexible and can be installed in smooth lines, but it can also form sharp corners. You can bend these corners into a right angle by simply placing a brick or another heavy and straight object on the bending point. Then bend the edging around it to create a clean corner. The pins are attached to the edging, making installation very easy! Below we explain 5 simple steps.

• Step 1: Determine where you will use the edging and calculate the number of meters needed.
• Step 2: Dig a trench with a spade where you want to place the edging. Recommended depth: 80 to 100 mm.
• Step 3: Place the edging in the trench and slide the pieces together. Secure them by bending the tab at the end.
• Step 4: Hammer the pins into the ground using a rubber mallet. Use a level to ensure it is straight. You can reinforce it with hardwood stakes.
• With an angle grinder you can shorten the edging if needed.
• Step 5: Fill the trench with gravel or soil depending on use.
