Grey Deck Screws

Wovar's coated screws are grey/ anthracite in colour. Each Coated Screw has a Torx impression. This prevents your machine from slipping and reduces the risk of damage to the screw. The anti-rust / anti-tannic coating is built up in three layers and has the highest corrosion class C4. Pre-drilling in Coniferous wood is not necessary. This is recommended for hardwood. You can use our hardwood drill bits for this. Coated screws 4mm thick are pre-drilled with a 3.0mm thick hardwood drill and the 5mm thick screws with a 3.5mm thick wood drill.

A razor-sharp cutting point has also been applied to all coated screws. The cutting point, also called drill point, ensures that the screw quickly turns in the wood. The screw thread of the screws is interrupted, as it were, by a kind of saw cut. There are milling ribs under the head of the coated screws. These ensure that the countersunk head sinks nicely into the wood. To give the whole thing a nice finish, ensure equal distances between all your planks. Wovar has various spacers for this.
