This hole is countersunk on the inside so that the screws disappear nicely in the fame. Mounting on wood can be done using hardwood drills. For stone, use concrete drills to insert nylon plugs into the stone. For the 4 x 50 screw take a 6 x 30 mm plug, so a 6 mm concrete drill.
