Why choose Invisible beam support 50 x 100 mm for concealed beam connection - Per Set?

  • Creates invisible connection

Invisible beam support 50 x 100 mm for concealed beam connection - Per Set

Would you like to connect your beams unseen? With these invisible beam supports 50 x 100 mm, it is possible to connect beams with a minimum width of 60 mm and a height of 120 mm. Of course, by concealed we mean a hidden connection. Invisible beam supports are also not really invisible, this means that you cannot see the connection system when mounting the beam on the main beam. This ensures a super nice finish and a professional appearance for your roof, carport or garden house.

The net size of this invisible beam carrier is 50 x 100 mm. Because the system must be milled into the head of your beam, it is important that you use these concealed beam supports for beams of at least 60 mm wide and 120 mm high. These beam connectors are often used in combination with 63x175mm larch wood and 7.5 x 17.5 / 7.5 x 22.5 / 7.5 x 20 / 7.5 x 27.5 x 7.5 x 25 spruce beams. But it is of course also possible to use 63 x 160 mm beams. If the width is only at least 60 mm and the height is at least 120 mm.

The bar supports for concealed connection are supplied with corresponding screws. You do not have to purchase this separately. The beam carrier itself consists of 2 separate parts. You slide these 2 so-called discs into each other after mounting on your beams. Because invisible beam supports are easy to assemble, they are also widely used for timber frame construction.

How do I install hidden wood connectors?

This concealed bar connection set consists of 2 components (1 male and 1 female), 2 screws 4.2 x 26 mm, to clamp these components together, and 18 screws 4.0 x 60 mm. The screws have a torx 15 drive. On the main bar, place the female connector. You determine the place where you want to place the crossbar and screw the connecting piece against the top of the beam (see photo 3).

Then screw the male component onto the head of the crossbar. You should also screw this to the top of the beam. You can now fasten the beam connectors together with the 4.2 x 26 mm screw.

Tip: For the best end result, we recommend milling the beams approximately 6 mm. The beam connectors then fall into the beam so that you cannot see it on the outside. You will also notice that when you mill the concealed beam supports, the cross beam fits nicely with the main beam.

How much carrying capacity does this concealed beam attachment have?

The image on the right shows how the wearing direction is indicated by means of the abbreviations. F1 stands for the load bearing capacity downward, F2 stands for lateral strength, F3 for the force away from the main beam and F4 for the strength of the screw connecting the 2 components.

Below is a clear table showing the load-bearing capacity of this concealed wood connector.

Bearing capacity direction Number of load capacity in kg
    F1 / carrying capacity downwards 2195 kg
    F2 / sideways strength 440 kg
F3 / strength away from the main beam 750 kg
    F4 / strength screw 500 kg
