The UV-resistant facade film from Wovar can be used for partially open facades with a maximum open joint width of 20 mm and a maximum of 20 percent per m2 of the total facade. The foil weighs approximately 200 grams per square meter, is water-resistant, vapor-permeable, and is fire class B-s1,d0 certified according to Euroclass EN 13501. A combination of factors guarantees maximum protection of the underlying construction.

How to apply UV-Resistant Facade Sheeting?

Applying the UV-resistant facade foil as standard, i.e. without self-adhesive strips, is done with our special adhesive for black roof and facade foil. Wovar adhesive for roof and facade foil is a solvent-free contact sealant. This is super easy to apply using a caulking gun. Always ensure an overlap of at least 10 cm when gluing.

Always fix the facade foil with stainless steel staples, preferably on a hard back plate construction, if necessary apply an adhesive strip to the rear construction at 60 cm. Permanent fixation of the foil must always be done with a vertical wood rail. Provide the tile on the inside with self-adhesive tile tape to prevent watering through the fastening screws. On this line/battens, you finally attach the facade timber parts with an open joint. Make sure that you always apply the black side of the foil on the outside. 

Horizontal and Vertical Cladding

Vertical open facade cladding should always be fitted with a double substructure. This is shown in photo 3. It is necessary for the correct drainage of rainwater over the facade. Horizontal cladding can be applied to the rear construction with only a vertical timber batten. All overlaps must always be glued for correct sealing of the facade.
