A sloping shade sail

It is important to install your shade sail with a slope to avoid collecting puddles on the sail. We recommend attaching the fabric with a slope of about 20 degrees. This equates to about 20 cm per linear meter. In this case, with a canvas of 4 meters, this results in a slope of 80 cm. This oblique angle, in combination with the water-repellent PU coating of the material, ensures that rainwater will slide off the fabric quickly and smoothly. 

Mounting the shade sail

Anchor bolts allow you to create a mounting point in your concrete or brick wall. Not enough walls? Then you can create an attachment point with the help of a wooden post. After placing the post, you can make a mounting point on it, with an eye plate. Secure the eye with 4 screws.

The attachment points can be connected to the fabric using various parts. For example, at Wovar you can order carabiners, turnbuckles, and stainless steel chains. The carabiners are very useful for quickly connecting and disconnecting the canvas. This way you can easily remove the cloth after the season.

The turnbuckles are adjustable by turning them. We recommend that you use this to tension the fabric properly. The distance between the fabric and the attachment point may be longer than you can bridge with a carabiner or turnbuckle.
