Rivets

Looking for rivets? At Wovar you will find rivets in different shapes and sizes. With our rivets, you can easily attach two different materials together. The type of material hardly plays a role here, as you can fasten almost all types of materials together with these rivets. Rivets are often used for attaching sheet material.

They have the advantage that they are mounted from one side and do not require further hardening time. After confirmation, the rivet is immediately secured. Because rivets are quite small and can be easily placed, they ensure that the material to be attached is not damaged.

At Wovar, you will find rivets made of galvanized steel and stainless steel rivets. The widths vary between 3, 4, and 5 mm thick. Lengths can be found between 6 and 20 mm. Looking for a different type or size of rivet? Please contact our customer service.

Fixing with rivets has several advantages. For example, it is possible to mount rivets from one side, because the head automatically presses against the material on the other side after mounting.

How do you Mount Rivets?

Pre-drill the material to be attached together. You can determine the thickness of the drill based on the thickness of the rivet. If the rivet has a diameter of 3 mm, pre-drill with a 3 mm thick drill. Use rivet pliers to attach rivets, you can easily order them. After both materials are completely pre-drilled, insert the rivet with the side of the long pin into the rivet pliers. Then press the head of the rivet into the material, press it well and squeeze the rivet pliers completely.

This tightens the head of the rivet, allowing it to form in the material and ensure a secure attachment. Let the rivet pliers open again and squeeze it again well. You will see the pin break off the rivet and the rivet is tight in the material.

How do you Remove Rivets?

Removing rivets is quite easy and can be done in several ways. One way is to drill it with a cordless drill and a metal drill. Take a metal drill bit that is slightly thinner than the rivet itself and start drilling. You will find that when you pierce the rivet completely, you simply remove it.

Removing Rivets with a Hammer

Another way to remove rivets is to use a hammer and chisel. First, knock off the head of the rivet with a chisel. This gives the option of subsequently knocking out the pin of the rivet with, for example, a pin or punch.
