Milling ribs are mounted under the head of the screw. These provide a nice galvanization. For perfect countersinking in your smooth decking, we recommend using our Hardwood Countersink drill bit with Depth Stop. This allows the head of this brown deck screw to sink perfectly. Due to the Depth Stop, the head of each decking screw is countersunk to the same depth. The screws are also automatically pre-drilled.

Do I have to pre-drill these Dark Brown Deck Screws?

For soft woods, pre-drilling is not necessary with this deck screw. This is, however, recommended for hardwood. Are you using our Countersink drill bit with Depth Stop? Then you do not need to purchase a separate drill bit for pre-drilling. If you are not using this, choose our hardwood 3.5 mm drill to pre-drill the dark brown decking screws. With our decking liner you can drill all screw holes in 1 straight line.
